A graduate of the University of San Francisco, Global University (ICI), Berean Institute, and attendee of Golden Gate Theological Seminary. Ben was licensed and ordained by the Evangelical Church Alliance in 1984. Following his service in US Army, and a tour in Viet Nam, he served a decade as a Police Officer in the San Francisco Bay Area, and four years as the Assistant Solano County Recorder. Ben has served as a volunteer Chaplain at San Quentin State Prison, and as Police Chaplin, receiving training as a hostage and critical incident negotiator. His pastoral ministry began as the Administrator and Singles Pastor of a large Northern California Assembly of God church, and later he founded and pastored New Hope Christian Fellowship, a non-denominational, evangelical church in the Sacramento Valley for seventeen years. Ben’s ministry has included speaking at numerous churches, conferences, seminars and retreats, as well as global and national missions. He has produced and hosted a weekly radio show reaching the greater Francisco Bay Area, and has written editorials, articles, and discourses, authored plays, vignettes, and skits. Ben’s dramatic monologue of the Book of James brings the Scriptures to life as he performs “A Man Called James.” His work and experience have equipped him with a unique insight of human conflict and divine intervention that is clearly echoed in his writings.
